Information We Access

Couponify accesses only what is strictly necessary to function:

• The URL of your active tab, to identify the website you are currently visiting
• The visible text content of the current page, to detect whether it is a shopping site

This page content check happens entirely within your browser. It is never sent to our servers.

What We Do Not Access

• Browsing history
• Personal identity information
• Login credentials or passwords
• Payment or financial data
• Form inputs or typed content
• Data from any tab other than the one you are actively viewing

How Shopping Detection Works

When you visit a website, Couponify scans the visible text of the current page for common shopping-related keywords such as "cart", "checkout", and "payment". This analysis runs locally in your browser and the results are never transmitted anywhere.

If the page matches enough shopping signals, Couponify sends only the page's URL to its backend service to check whether coupon websites are available for that store. If coupons are found, a small, dismissible banner appears inviting you to view them. Only the URL is used for this lookup — never the page's text content.

Data Transmission & AI Processing

To find coupon websites for the store you're on, only the URL of the current page is sent to Couponify's backend service. This happens in two situations: automatically on detected shopping pages, to check whether coupons exist before showing the banner; and when you open results from the popup or banner. The URL is used solely to identify the store and generate a list of relevant coupon websites for it.

To identify the store accurately, the backend uses an AI service (Anthropic's Claude) to interpret the website URL. Only the URL is processed — no personal information, page content, or browsing data is included.

This transmitted data:

• Contains no personal information
• Is not stored or logged by Couponify
• Is not linked to any user identity
• Consists only of the page URL — never the page's content, your inputs, or login data

Data Storage

Couponify does not store any data locally or remotely. We do not maintain databases of users, searches, or activity. The extension uses your browser's session storage only to remember whether the banner has already been shown on the current page — this data is cleared automatically when you close the tab.

Analytics & Tracking

Couponify does not use any analytics, tracking, or telemetry tools. We do not:

• Track users across sessions or websites
• Build user profiles
• Monitor browsing activity
• Share any data with advertisers

Third-Party Services

Couponify relies on a small number of trusted third-party services:

• Anthropic (Claude) — receives only the active tab's URL to identify the store. Anthropic does not use API data to train its models.
• Coupon platforms — Honey, RetailMeNot, Groupon, and Coupons.com, which you may choose to open. When you do, you are subject to their own privacy policies.

Couponify does not share any personally identifiable information with these services.

Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated if Couponify's functionality changes. Any updates will be reflected on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
